Both Tenerife airports are wheelchair-accessible and there are lifts to take passengers to the upper level. Telephones, restaurants and toilets are all physically accessible and facilities to assist disabled passengers from the aircraft to the terminal are available. Disabled travellers are advised to notify their airline of any special requirements at least 72 hours before departure.
Please be aware that all airport
transfers in Tenerife have to be pre booked. There are
people who will approach you upon your arrival to
Tenerife, offering you cheap transfers to your holiday
resort. This is ILLEGAL and you run
the risk of travelling in uninsured vehicles with
inexperienced drivers. This will invalidate your
holiday insurance and further more put yourself, your
family and friends at great risk. If you arrive in
Tenerife without an airport transfer pre booked you are
advised to use the airport taxi service. If you ask
they will supply you with a mobility adapted vehicle,
however you must be prepared to wait until one becomes
available.
Blue Badge Mobility Tenerife also offer an airport
transfer service where you can pre book your
mobility airport transfers. You will travel in
specially adapted vehicles that have the correct legal
requirements along with patient and professional
drivers to take you to your holiday resort safely. For

The disabled blue formerly
(orange) badge scheme is a national scheme for
people who:
are registered blind have severe walking difficulties
regularly drive but are unable to turn the steering wheel by hand
have a child under two years of age with a severe medical condition
The scheme provides a wide range of parking benefits. For example the scheme enables badge holders to park free in most pay and display car parks and also to park on single and double yellow lines in most streets for up to three hours (where it will not cause an obstruction or endanger other road users or pedestrians).
All European Community countries use a
standardised
blue disabled badge. This
makes it easier for disabled people living in the
UK
to use the disabled parking schemes in other European
countries.
